About the Learning Progress Tracker

Learning Marathi is a rewarding but structured journey. It helps to know exactly where you are in that journey — which foundations you have covered, which intermediate skills you have practised, and which advanced topics remain ahead. The Learning Progress Tracker gives you a clear, interactive checklist organised across three levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Tick each lesson as you complete it, and your progress is saved in your browser so it is there every time you return.

How the three levels are organised

The Beginner group covers the fundamentals of reading and writing Marathi: the vowels (स्वर), consonants (व्यंजन), the syllable grid (बाराखडी), nouns (नाम), and grammatical gender (लिंग). These five lessons form the essential base without which all further study is difficult. The Intermediate group builds on that base with verbs (क्रियापद), the three tenses (काळ), pronouns (सर्वनाम), adjectives (विशेषण), and sentence formation. The Advanced group addresses the more sophisticated areas tested in Maharashtra State Board exams and competitive examinations: compound words (समास), sound mergers (संधी), active and passive voice, direct and indirect speech, and formal essay writing (निबंध).

How to use this tool

  1. Work through lessons in order, starting from the Beginner group if you are new to Marathi grammar.
  2. Click the lesson title link to open the full lesson in a new tab.
  3. Once you feel confident with a lesson, return here and tick the checkbox. Your progress is saved automatically.
  4. Revisit unchecked lessons regularly. You can uncheck and re-check items at any time to mark revision sessions.
  5. Use the Print button to create a paper copy of your checklist for your study planner or portfolio.

Why tracking matters for language learning

Visibility over your progress reduces the anxiety that comes from feeling overwhelmed by a large curriculum. When you can see that you have already completed five out of fifteen lessons, the remaining work feels manageable. Research in educational psychology consistently shows that learners who monitor their own progress achieve higher outcomes than those who study without feedback. This checklist provides exactly that self-monitoring structure. Pair it with the Grammar Score Tracker to see both your lesson coverage and your quiz performance in one study session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your progress is saved in your browser's localStorage under the key "lessons". No data is sent to any server. This means progress is specific to the browser and device you are using. Clearing your browser data will also clear your checklist progress.

Because progress is stored locally, each device maintains its own checklist. If you study on both a phone and a laptop, you will need to tick off lessons separately on each device. We recommend using the Print function to keep a paper backup.

You can uncheck individual lessons at any time by clicking the tick box again. To reset all progress at once, clear the localStorage for this site from your browser's developer tools (Application > Local Storage > delete the "lessons" key).

The 15 lessons listed cover the core Marathi grammar curriculum. MarathiGrammar.one has many additional lessons on topics such as prefixes, suffixes, punctuation, reading skills, and competitive exam grammar. Explore the Lessons section for the full library.
